We have a Sun Belt Conference NCAA Men’s Basketball game on Wednesday evening between the Troy Trojans and the UL Monroe Warhawks taking place at the Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The Trojans are 17-12 (9-7) so far and are coming off an 88-78 road loss against the Marshall Thundering Herd on Saturday. The Warhawks are 11-18 (7-9) currently and are on a five-game losing streak after coming off an 81-45 road loss on Saturday against the South Alabama Jaguars. Neither team will be the top few seeds in the Sun Belt, but Troy has a shot to still make the NCAA Tournament.

The Troy Trojans have been doing a pretty solid job offensively this season as they are averaging 72.5 points while shooting a good 44.6 percent from the field. They have been passing the ball very well this season with 13.7 assists per game so far. Senior forward Zay Williams has led the way for the Trojans as he is averaging 12 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.8 blocks, one steal, and 1.2 turnovers in 29 minutes per game.

Their defense has been doing very well on this side of the floor as they are allowing 66.1 points per game up to this point. They have been doing pretty well at forcing mistakes as they are averaging 2.6 blocks and 8.5 steals per game right now. If they can continue to do well on the defensive side of the court, they can really improve and be a solid team in the postseason stretch.
