Troy at Appalachian State 9/17/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Troy Trojans and Appalachian State Mountaineers face off on Saturday in a Week 3 college football showdown at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

Troy comes into this game with a 1-1 record overall but in the last game, they had a nice win. To start the season they lost 28-10 to Ole Miss, before knocking off Alabama A&M 38-17 in the last game. Xavier Lockford completed 16 of his 32 passes for 182 yards, zero touchdowns, and two interceptions. Isaiah Cox had three carries for 99 yards. Even though Lockford threw for 182 yards and they were able to win, but they need a lot better quarterback play in this game. If the offense keeps turning over the ball, it’s going to be a long game and this could become a blowout early.

On the other side of this matchup is the Appalachian State Mountaineers and they come into this game with a 1-1 record. In the first game, they lost to North Carolina 63-61 and in the last game, they were able to beat Texas A&M 17-14. After the defense wasn’t great in the first game they were quite impressive in Game 2. In the last game, Chase Brice completed 15 of his 30 passes for 134 yards and a touchdown. Camerun Peoples had a big game rushing 19 times for 119 yards. App State wants the offense to be good, but even more important they need the defense to be good.
