The Toronto Raptors have hit a tough patch, winning just three of their last 11 games to fall four games under .500. Toronto have played a bit bette of late, winning three of five games as they try to break out of a funk that has them on the outside looking in on the Eastern Conference playoff picture. In their last matchup, Toronto upended another ice cold team, the Phoenix Suns, 113-104 at home on Friday night. Gary Trent Jr. led the way offensively, matching his season-high with 35 points. Pascal Siakam added 26 points as the Raptors put a halt to a five-game home losing streak. The story of the game may very well have been the sloppy play of the Suns, who committed 27 turnovers that the Raptors were able to turn into 34 points. Trent would finish the night 11-of-22, including 4-0f-11 from long range.

“Gary just had it going,” Raptors coach Nick Nurse said.

The Raptors offense has been inconsistent this season and is reflective in the numbers. They are just 24th in the league in scoring this season at just over 111 points per game. They are just 27th in the NBA in shooting overall and are 29th in 3pt shooting. On the defensive side of the ball, Toronto is 9th in scoring defense. They are just 29th in defensive shooting percentage and 20th in 3pt shooting defense. The Raptors have played a lot of the season with an undersized team, often employing Siakam at center. Not surprisingly, the Raptors are just 22nd in the league in rebounding. Toronto does do a good job of protecting the basketball, however, ranked first in the NBA in turnovers.

Key Injuries: Starting point guard Fred VanVleet will be a game-time decision on Monday with a back issue.
