The Miami Heat play host to the Toronto Raptors at the FTX Arena on Monday night.
The Toronto Raptors will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after coming up painfully short to the Heat in a 112-109 loss on Saturday. Pascal Siakam racked up 23 points with eight rebounds and nine assists, Gary Trent Jr. added 23 points of his own, Precious Achiuwa scored 18 points off the bench while Scottie Barnes chipped in with 11 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 42 percent from the field and 14 of 39 from the 3-point line but their defense cost them in this one as they were always playing from behind after leaking an unforgivable 71 points in the first half.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat needed a win to kick off their season and they finally got it with a hard-fought win over the Raptors on Saturday. Jimmy Butler led the team with 24 points and five assists, Max Strus added 20 points off the bench, Kyle Lowry scored 17 points while Tyler Herro tallied 14 points with eight rebounds and six assists. As a team, the Heat shot 50 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they dominated the Raptors in the first half to build an early 24-point lead which proved to be just enough in the end as the Raptors rallied to within three points late.
