Illya Samsonov (21-7-2, 2.35, .916) was spectacular between the pipes for Toronto, stopping 24 of 25 shots. He had allowed seven total goals in his previous two starts but was spectacular in this game. Samsonov has been inconsistent, holding six of his last 10 opponents to two goals or fewer, but has allowed 18 total goals in the other four games, including allowing at least five in two of those games. The Maple Leafs are 11th in penalty killing (81.2%) and fifth in goals-against average (2.64).
