The Toronto Maple Leafs (23-9-7, 53 points, 2nd Atlantic) visit the City of Brotherly Love on Sunday to play the Philadelphia Flyers (15-17-7, 37 points,  7th Metro) in an Eastern Conference game. Toronto was defeated by the Seattle Kraken 5-1 on Thursday and will be playing the second part of a back-to-back when visiting Philadelphia after playing against the Detroit Red Wings at home on Saturday. Toronto has fallen to 11 points behind the first-place Boston Bruins in the Atlantic division. Philadelphia is well off the pace in the Metropolitan Division but the Flyers have won four straight after defeating the Arizona Coyotes 6-2 on Thursday. Toronto will play without Kyle Clifford  Clifford, Carl Dahlstrom, Victor Mete, Jake Muzzin and Nicholas Rober tson. Philadelphia will play without Cam Atkinson, Sean Couturier, Ryan Ellis and Tanner Laczynski.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are allowing an average of 2.64 goals per game which is fourth-best in the NHL. The Maple Leafs are allowing an average of 28.5 shots per game which is fifth best. Toronto's penalty-kill unit is successfully holding opponents scoreless 77.6% of the time the Maple Leafs are short-handed which is only 18th in the NHL. Toronto goalie Ilya Samsonov is 11-3-1 with a 2.38 goals-against average and .914 save percentage. The Russian has two shutouts. Samsonov has allowed 5, 4 and 3 goals in his last three appearances. 

 

Toronto is tough to stop in the attacking zone as the Maple Leafs are averaging 3.36 goals per game which is seventh best in the NHL. Toronto is averaging 31.8 shots per game which is 16th and the Maple Leafs are scoring 25.0% of the time on power play which is 10th best. William N ylander is the leading goal scorer for Toronto with 22, while Auston Matthews has scored 19. Mitchell Marner is the leader in assists with 30 and Matthews is second with 26.
