The Toronto Maple Leafs face the New Jersey Devils with both teams looking to build off of remarkable seasons. The Maple Leafs have a 38-17-8 record and are in second place in the Atlantic Division while the Devils have a 41-15-6 record and with seven wins in their last 10 games, they have the second-best record in the Metropolitan Division. Both teams look to remain near the top of their divisions and the Eastern Conference and the upcoming game looks to be a great one as a result.

The Maple Leafs are having a great season with their offense stepping up and scoring 3.37 goals per game. Mitch Marner, William Nylander, and John Tavares have scored 83 goals and 130 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has also been great. The offense has been great but the defense has carried the Maple Leafs recently, allowing only 2.65 goals per game with only five goals in the last two games. Mark Giordano and Timothy Liljegren have combined for 8.0 defensive point shares and 194 blocked shots while Justin Holl, T.J. Brodie, and trade deadline addition Jake McCabe have combined for 6.1 defensive point shares to add depth to the unit. In addition, goa ltender Ilya Samsonov has been great with a .915 save percentage and a 2.39 goals-against average on 884 shots with 8.9 goals saved above average.
