Toronto Blue Jays vs. Los Angeles Angels Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 4-7-2023

The Los Angeles Angels (4-2) will take on the Toronto Blue Jays (4-3) Friday in the opening meeting of a three-game series. Toronto went 4-3 against Los Angeles last season, with the road team winning each of the seven games.

Toronto came into the season with 90.5 projected wins according to Vegas Insider, the third most in the American League behind the Yankees and Astros. The Blue Jays dropped three of their first four games to start the season but then swept the Royals in Kansas City. The 34-year-old right-hander was rocked last Sunday for nine runs and four home runs allowed in just 3.1 innings of a 9-4 loss to the Cardinals. In 2022 Bassitt went 15-9 with a 3.42 ERA during the regular season. Bassitt has made 12 career appearances against the Angels, but not since 2021. In his outings against the Angels, he is 6-3 with a 3.43 ERA all-time but 4-1 with a 1.85 ERA in six starts since the beginning of 2020.

The Blue Jays are second in MLB with a .291 team batting average and 13th averaging 4.95 runs per game. Third baseman Matt Chapman leads MLB with a .481 batting average and has added seven RBI to lead the team Vladimir Guerrero Jr has belted two of the team's three home runs.
