Tony Finau U.S. Open Prediction 2023

Tony Finau enters the 2023 U.S. Open coming off back-to-back disappointing outings. He finished T72 at the Players Championship and then missed the cut at the Charles Schwab Challenge to end the month of May. Things have obviously gone a bit downhill since Finau won the Mexico Open in April.

More 2023 U.S. Open betting content from The Duel:

Finau's past U.S. Open appearances do not instill much confidence that he can regain his form this weekend. The 33-year-old has missed the cut in four of his seven tournament showings, including each of the last two (2021 & 2022). Finau lacks superiority in an important category as well.

The Utah native is great when it comes to getting himself onto the green, but only ranks 80th in terms of Strokes Gained: Putting (0.106). That could prove costly in LA as the fast greens leave little room for error. I would avoid backing Finau altogether as even a top-40 finish is not a guarantee.
