The 3-2 Toledo Rockets, fresh off of a homecoming win over Central Michigan, travel to Northern Illinois to take on the Huskies in MAC football action. The Toledo Rockets are now 3-2 on the season following a 38-17 homecoming drubbing of Central Michigan. The Rockets were led by quarterback Dequan Finn, who threw for two touchdowns and 186 yards passing in the win. Finn's two first half touchdowns gave help to give the Rockets a commanding 31-3 halftime lead.

“It was a really special day in the Glass Bowl with a lot of alumni back and honoring two championship teams,” said Head Coach Jason Candle after the game. “We played a really good first half and created a lot of momentum for ourselves. We knew it was going to be a tough 60-minute game and to get off to a good start was important. To start 1-0 in conference play is big. We have a monster challenge next week in DeKalb.”

The Toledo offense gained 447 yards on the day and ran for a season-high 261 yards. Running back Jaxquez Stuart led the way with a career-high 112 yards on 16 carries an d added a touchdown run. Reserve running back Micah Kelly added 61 yards and a touchdown as well. Finn's two touchdowns went to wideout DeMeer Blankumsee and tight end Jamal Turner.

The Rockets' defense stepped up big by forcing three turnovers in the game. The star was linebacker Adrian Woliver who had a strip sack to set up a Toledo touchdown and recovered a fumble late in the game to seal the win. Toledo held to just 285 yards of total offense including just 33 yards on the ground.

Offensively, the Rockets have been solid this season with the 37th ranked scoring offense thus far. On the ground, Toledo is ranked 34th overall and through the air they are ranked 97th. As a scoring defense, the Rockets are ranked 79th in the country and they are 96th against the run and 41st against the pass. In the turnover department, Toledo sits at 85th in the country in turnover differential.
