This is another game that should be a lopsided matchup. The Hurricanes have not been stellar to start the season but they get to play the winless Sharks. San Jose is 0-6-1 to start the season with an average loss by 3 goals. As long as the Hurricanes do not try to sleepwalk through this game, they should be able to run up the score somewhat comfortably. That being the case, Brent Burns has a good chance to tally at least a point.
The Hurricanes rank top 10 in the NHL in goal scoring while the Sharks' 4 goals allowed per game is the 4th most in the league. Brent Burns has not lit up the score sheet early on, but the Sharks present a good spot to get right and pad some stats. Burns averages the most time on ice of all Hurricanes skaters and is consistently on the ice with Carolina's fellow top players. The opportunity will be there to Burns to produce on Friday night.
