Today's Best NHL Player Props & Odds: Target Jason Robertson & Alex DeBrincat

NHL fans witnessed the 2024 edition of the Winter Classic yesterday as the standalone hockey game of the day. That means almost every team in the league is back in action today, and we're in store for quite the slate. I'll be looking to build upon my solid 10-2 record so far this campaign with what are, in my opinion, the best NHL player prop bets for today.

We'll be sticking with two teams' offensive leaders, and you can read the full write-ups below. Plus, don't forget to uncover our NHL picks for all of today's matchups while you're at it.

Jason Roberton over 0.5 assists (-105)

First up on my list is the Dallas Stars' points leader in Jason Robertson. He's recorded 36 so far this season which is good for 30th in the league, and he's been especially on fire as of late. With that being said, it's another statistic I'll be targeting with him today, and that is assists. Leading up to this contest against a poor Canadians team, Robertson has notched at least 1 assist in 4 of his last 5 games, including 2+ assists in 3 of those.

Speaking of the lowly Canadians, they've been one of the worst defensive units in all the NHL up to this point. While their 3.4 goals allowed per outing is 22nd in the league, they allow the 28th most shots at 32.9. This should give Roberton plenty of opportunities to set up his teammates to score against Montreal, which has allowed at least 4 goals in 4 of their last 5 showings. Oh yeah, the Stars also score 3.6 goals per game, the second most in the NHL. All signs point to Robertson having a big night in this one.
