SGP predictions for Timberwolves vs. Mavericks
Two weeks ago it looked like Doncic's injuries were catching up to him and the Mavericks wouldn't even make it out of the second round of the playoffs. Now he's winning the face of the league war against Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards and is coming off the most memorable shot of the postseason.
The game-winner against the Timberwolves was just the icing on the cake after Doncic put together a triple-double in Game 2. He's been an all-around dynamo in the series averaging 51 points, rebounds, and assists. With six double-doubles in his last seven games and 11 in 14 postseason games, he's bound to do it again.
Obviously the -200 odds are too short on their own, but are perfect for the first leg of this SGP. The odds imply a 66.67% probability he'll record a double-double, according to our odds converter.
Without question, Edwards has lived up to his nickname of Ant-Man in this series, because he's shrunk in the spotlight thus far. However, it can't all be put on the 22-year-old. Karl-Anthony Towns has been a non-factor against a Dallas frontcourt primarily made up of players casual fans couldn't name.
The combo of P.J. Was hington, Derrick Jones Jr., Daniel Gafford, and rookie Dereck Lively II are eating Special K for breakfast. KAT is averaging just 15.5 points, seven rebounds, and 2.5 assists in the series (25.0) while shooting 27.8% from the floor and 21.4% from three.
It hasn't just been against Dallas where he's struggled either, he's averaging 30.5 PRA in the postseason and has gone Under 30.5 in eight of 13 playoff games. The -115 odds imply a 53.49% probability that Towns will hit the Under once again.
Two words, cheap tattoos.
At this point every resident in Minneapolis probably has a Naz Reid tattoo, as they should. The Sixth Man of the Year has been the Timberwolves' most effective and efficient scorer in the Western Conference Finals and was hands down their best player in Game 2.
Coming off a 23-point performance in which he went 7-for-9 from three, I'm surprised this prop isn't set at 2.5 for Game 3. Reid has hit 10 threes in two games against Dallas and averaged 2.1 makes per game in the regular-season while shooting 41.4% from deep.
