Timberwolves at Pelicans Prediction – NBA Picks 1/25/23

The Minnesota Timberwolves pay a visit to the New Orleans Pelicans at the Smoothie King Center on Wednesday night.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in good form as they’ve won eight of their last 12 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after falling short to the lowly Rockets in a 119-114 road loss on Monday. Anthony Edwards led the team with 31 points and five assists, D’Angelo Russell added 30 points with seven assists while Rudy Gobert chipped in with 15 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 45 percent from the field and 16 of 42 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Rockets until halfway through the third quarter where the Rockets went on a pivotal 17-7 run to pull away and steal the game from them in the end.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Pelicans have been in rough shape as they’ve lost eight of their last 10 games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a five-game slide after falling just short to the Nuggets in a 99-98 home loss last night. CJ McCollum led the team with 20 points, Jose Alverado added 17 points on eight of 12 shooting off the bench while Jonas Valanciunas chipped in with 14 points and nine assists. As a team, the Pelicans shot 44 percent from the field and just five of 26 from the 3-point line as they struggled to keep pace with the Nuggets in the first half and fell behind by 19 points, but they worked hard to claw their way back and take the lead, only to see the Nuggets’ Jokic steal the game with a game-winning shot with just 16.2 seconds left on the clock.
