Germany was undone by Japan in its opening Group E contest, but looked far better when tying 1-1 with Spain last time out and that was a game they could have won. Jamal Musiala, Thomas Muller and Serge Gnabry all looked lively in forward positions for the Germans, who really should dominate this contest.
On the other side, Costa Rica recovered from a 7-0 hammering by Spain to beat Japan and keep their dreams of progressing to the next stage alive. The Ticos have recorded just 1 shot on target in 2 contests however, so it's hard to see how Costa Rica will be able to withstand what is likely going to be relentless German pressure. Because Costa Rica have offered little offensively in 2 games, backing Germany to win in a shutout will be the play.
