Texas Longhorns (5-2) vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys (5-1)

The 2022 FSB season goes on Saturday, October 22, with plenty of interesting Week 8 matchups around the country including the Big 12 Conference showdown at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The No. 11 Oklahoma State Cowboys host the No. 20 Texas Longhorns, who are listed as 6.5-point road favorites with a total of 62.0 points. The Cowboys shoot for their second straight victory over the Longhorns after beating Texas 32-24 as 3.5-point road favorites in 2021.

The Texas Longhorns (5-2; 5-2 ATS; 3-1 conf.) are coming off a narrow 24-21 home victory against the Iowa State Cyclones in Week 7. It was their third consecutive win, but the Longhorns failed to cover a 15.5-point spread. After a 49-0 dismantling of the Oklahoma Sooners in Week 6, the Longhorns barely outlasted the Cyclones thanks to Xavier Worthy’s touchdown with 4:43 left on the clock in the fourth quarter.

Worthy finished the game with eight receptions for 72 yards and a couple of scores. Quinn Ewers completed 17 of his 26 passing attempts for 172 yards and three touchdowns, while Bijan Robinson had 28 carries for 135 yards. Robinson failed to find the end zone for the first time this season, and junior RB now has 1,019 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns in 2022.

“We didn't play very good,” Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said. “But we played hard, and we played tough. Generally, that's the sign of a pretty good team when you cannot play your best football, but find a way to win.”

The Longhorns are scoring 36.7 points per game (26th in the nation) on 253.7 passing yards (56th) and 179.9 rushing yards (43rd). Their defense has done a good job thus far, allowing 18.3 points per contest (20th) on 228.7 passing yards (65th) and 118.7 rushing yards (35th). Keep your eyes on D’Shawn Jamison and Jahdae Barron who have accounted for a couple of interceptions and a pick-six each.
