The Texas Tech Red Raiders will head over to Austin and face the Texas Longhorns in Big 12 play from the Moody Center on ESPN.
Texas Tech fell to 10-6 after losing to Iowa State in Ames. This loss was so uncharacteristic by TTU, you have to wonder what kind of shape they will enter Austin in. This was wasn’t just a bad loss, the Red Raiders dropped their fourth straight game by a whopping margin of 34 points.Texas is scoring 82.3 points per game, while allowing 65.1 ppg, and shooting 48.6% from the floor.
Texas Tech’s tournament hopes are fading fast, as an 0-4 start in Big 12 play has all but clouded this winter’s outlook. I can’t remember the last time I saw TTU lose by 20 points, let alone 34 of them, so there has to be some sort of bounce back effort here. Kevin Obanor dropped a season-high 26 points versus Kansas, and he leads the team in scoring (15.8), while grabbing 6.1 rpg. Former Oregon guard De’Vion Harmon got some revenge on OU with 23 points, and he’s up to 12.5 ppg.
