The Troy Trojans (4-2, 2-1) will host the Texas State Bobcats (3-3, 1-1) on Saturday in a Sun Belt Conference matchup. The Trojans beat the Bobcats 31-28 last season but did not cover as a seven-point road favorite.
Texas State was selected to finish fourth in the West Division behind Louisiana, South Alabama, and Troy in the conference preseason poll. The Bobcats are 0-3 on the road this season, with losses to Nevada (38-14), Baylor (42-7), and James Madison (40-13). At home they are a perfect 3-0 with wins over FIU (41-12), Houston Christian (34-0), and a shocking 36-24 victory as a 19-point underdog to Appalachian State last week. In the the big upset win over the Mountaineers Texas State was out gained 436 to 334 in total yardage but got off to a huge 30-3 lead early in the third quarter with the aid of excellent field position and a pick-6.

The Bobcats defense is 45th against the run allowing 128 yards per game, and 62nd allowing 226.3 passing yards. On offense, Texas State is 67th averaging 247.3 passing yards per game, with all attempts coming from Layne Hatcher (13 TDs, 7 INTs, 62.9% completions). The rushing attack is last amongst all 131 FBS teams, picking up only 62 yards per game.
