With just one win in the conference following their 31-30 loss to UL Monroe last Saturday, the Bobcats have the chance to make their season with an upset win over Texas State. Against ULM, the Bobcats looked to be in position to earn their second conference win after recovering a fumble with less than two minutes to go. Unfortunately, kicker Seth Keller missed the game-winning field goal with seven seconds left in a heartbreaking loss on the road.

The Bobcats were led by quarterback Layne Hatcher who went 29-of-41 for 237 yards and 2 touchdowns. He completed passes to nine different receivers including two touchdown passes two touchdown passes to wide receiver Javen Banks. Running back Lincoln Pare had 25 carries for 100 yards and one touchdown in the game, helping the Bobcats to 367 yards of total offense. Texas State did not commit a turnover on the night and went 9-of-18 in third down conversions. They did go 0-for -2 on fourth down.

Texas State's defense forced four turnovers in the game, three fumbles and an interception, and had that final chance to win the game as a result of one of those turnovers. They had eight tackles for loss and four sacks in the game while allowing 380 yards of total offense. ULM was 9-of-15 on third down and 1-of-1 on fourth down in the game.

Texas State is 103rd in the country in scoring offense this season. They have the worst rushing attack in the nation, ranking in at 131st. They are 73rd through the air and a respectable 43rd in the red zone. The Bobcats don't necessarily hurt themselves, ranking 33rd in penalties. They are 26th in turnover differential as well. Defensively, the Bobcats rank 71st in scoring defense. They are 35th against the run and 96th against the pass. In the red zone, they tend to tighten up with the 48th ranked red zone defense.

Key Injuries: The Bobcats receivers have taken a hit with the loss of leading receiver Ashtyn Hawkins (collarbone) and two receivers questionable this week, Banks (undisclosed) and Marcell Barbee (undisclosed) both questionable. In addition, RB Calvin Hill (thumb) is now out for the year.
