Texas dropped their second straight game as they were beaten soundly in the opening game of this series Friday night. The Rangers entered Saturday 40-22 on the year and held a five-game lead over the Astros in the race for the top spot in the AL West. On Friday night, Texas finished the game with just three hits, all of which were solo homers, leaving them on the short end of the scoreboard. Leody Taveras (his fourth and fifth) homered twice in the game while Josh Jung (his 13th) also went deep in the loss. Andrew Heaney (4-4) took the loss on the mound as he allowed four runs (three earned) on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts over five innings of work.
