Texas Rangers (68-47) vs. San Francisco Giants (62-53)

The MLB betting action goes on Friday, August 11, 2023, with a full 15-game card including the interleague showdown from Oracle Park in San Francisco, California, so we bring you the best Rangers vs. Giants betting pick.

Texas and San Francisco open a three-game series. These two foes lock horns for the first time since 2021 when the Giants swept a two-game home set and took one out of two from the Rangers in Texas.

The 68-47 Texas Rangers are coming off a 2-0 defeat at the lowly Oakland Athletics. The Rangers put an end to an eight-game winning streak, failing to score for the first time since a 4-0 defeat at the San Diego Padres. Since then, Texas has accounted for 53 runs in ten contests (8-2 record) while slashing .258/.341/.502 with 18 home runs in 380 plate appearances. Corey Seager has homered four times in his last six games and 26 at-bats, while Adolis Garcia and Marcus Semien have combined for seven dingers and 14 RBI over the last couple of weeks.

On the pitching side of things, the Rangers have done a great job during that ten-game stretch. They’ve amassed a shiny 2.35 ERA, 10.3 K/9, 2.2 BB/9, and 0.8 HR/9 through 88 innings of work, and the Rangers’ bullpen has thrown 29.1 of those 88 frames, tallying a strong 2.15 ERA to go with a 3.47 FIP and .236 opposing BABIP. Texas was topping the AL West on Thursday, just two games above the Houston Astros.

Jon Gray is projected to take the mound Friday in San Francisco. The 31-year-old right-hander holds a 7-5 record with a 3.72 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 95/39 K/BB ratio in 20 starts (113.2 innings pitched) this season. He emerged victorious in a 9-8 home win to the Miami Marlins this past Saturday, allowing five runs (three earned) on six hits and a pair of walks across 5.1 innings of work. It was Gray’s first win in nearly two months, and the veteran righty has surrendered 31 runs (28 earned) over his last eight starts and 40 innings of work (6.30 ERA, 4.47 FIP).
