The Astros lead the American League West have plummeted to fourth place in the division. Cristian Javier (8-9) gets the start for the Astros while Cole Ragans (0-2) takes the mound for the Rangers. First pitch is at 8:10 p.m. at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
The Texas Rangers got a great pitching performance out of Martin Perez, but still managed to lose in the opening game of this series on Monday. Perez gave up just 1 run on 6 hits in 6 innings with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk but he got 0 run support and suffered the defeat as Houston won 1-0. The Rangers only scratched out 3 hits in the game, and that won't win many ball games. The results of Tuesday night's game were not available at the time of publication.
