The Texas Rangers were riding high to start the second half of the season following the All-Star break. They came out with six straight wins heading into this weekend's showdown with the NL West Division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers. The Rangers were humbled in the first two games of the series, allowing 27 runs and outscored 27-8 in two straight blowouts. On Sunday, the Rangers turned to veteran lefty Martin Perez to slow down the Dodgers' offense. Perez allowed four hits and four runs through six innings to pick up the win in an 8-4 Rangers' win.
