The Texas Rangers continue their three-game series with the White Sox on Tuesday night. The two teams are at opposite ends of the MLB spectrum at the moment with the Rangers firmly in first place in the AL West Division while the White Sox are over ten games under .500. The pitching matchup on Tuesday night will feature a pair of hard-throwing right-handers as the Rangers' Nathan Eovaldi (9-3, 2.59) taking on the White Sox' Dylan Cease (3-3, 4.31). The Rangers head into Chicago this week still on top in the AL West Division and gaining ground on the pack. The Rangers have gone just 4-6 in their last ten games but seemed to have righted the ship this weekend after taking two of three games from the Blue Jays. Texas now has two teams firmly on the hunt for the lead in the west with both the Angels and Astros now battling for the second spot behind them. On Monday night in the opener against the White Sox, the Rangers got a solid start from Andrew Heaney and pounded out 11 hits in a 5-2 win in the series opener.

The Rangers will hand the ball to Nathan Eovaldi on Tuesday night. Eovaldi has taken on the role of staff war horse for the Rangers and has been the team's ace for much of the season. He is 9-3 in 14 starts this season, including nine quality starts. Eovaldi has allowed 73 hits in 93.2 innings pitched, including two complete games. His K/9 rate is 8.8, he has a WHIP of 0.98, and his ERA sits at 2.59. On the road, Eovaldi has been even better. He is 6-1 in eight starts on the road, including five quality starts. Eovaldi has an ERA of just 1.98 on the road while his K/9 rate is slightly lower at 8.2, and his WHIP is just slightly up at 1.02.

Key Injuries: IF/OF Brad Miller is out.
