Texas at TCU Prediction – Basketball Picks 3/1/23

The Texas Longhorns will make the three-hour trip to Fort Worth to take on the TCU Horned Frogs in Big 12 play from the Schoolmaier Arena on ESPN2. Texas leads the all-time series, 76-48, after winning eight of the last nine meetings.

Texas dropped to 22-7 after losing to Baylor in Waco. The Longhorns let the Bears pull away after the break, and they ended up falling by nine, 81-72. Texas is scoring 80.1 points per game, while allowing 67.5 ppg, and shooting 48.3% from the floor.

Texas’ loss to Baylor dropped them to second place in the standings, but a win here in Fort Worth would put the conference championship on the light this weekend when Kansas comes to town. The Longhorns are 11-5 in Big 12 play, with a 4-5 road record. Veteran guard Marcus Carr leads the Longhorns in scoring (16.9) and assists (4.1), after consistent production all season. Fellow senior guard Sir’Jabari Rice scored 24 points in the Red River win over OU, and he’s up to 12.1 ppg. Junior forward Timmy Allen leads the team in rebounding (5.6), while scoring 10.9 ppg.
