Texas at Oklahoma – 12/31/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners face off on Saturday in a college basketball showdown at the Lloyd Noble Center. When these two teams faced off in February it was Texas that secured the 80-78

Texas comes into this game with an 11-1 record overall and they have gone 5-7 against the spread. In the last game against Texas A&M Commerce, they scored 97 points on the way to the victory. The bigger concern from that game though was the defense gave up 72 points against a non D1 team. Texas is averaging 83.8 points while their defense is giving up 62.2 points per game. The offense is ranked 16th in the league, and they need to run up the score again in this game. Marcus Carr has been the top player for Texas averaging 17.8 points while shooting 47.3 percent from the field and 44.6 percent from behind the three point line. Coach Chris Beard is still away from the team.

On the other side of this matchup is Oklahoma who sits with a 9-3 record and they have gone 6-6 against the spread. In the last game against Florida the defense gave up only 53 points and that was enough for the victory. Two games ago against Central Arkansas, Oklahoma scored 87 points. Oklahoma is averaging 69 points while their defense is giving up 60.7 points per game. The defense is ranked 28th in college basketball. Grant Sherfield is averaging 18 points while shooting 47.3 percent from the field.
