The Penn State Nittany Lions take on the #12 Texas A&M Aggies with the winner advancing to the semifinals Thursday afternoon. Penn State rolled to a 74-51 win at home over Morehead State in their previous contest Friday night, covering the line as a 13-point favorite. Texas A&M downed Oral Roberts 74-66 at home in their previous game Friday night, failing to cover the line as a 20-point favorite. In the all-time series between the programs, the Aggies own a 3-1 advantage though it was Penn State earning a 76-59 win in the most recent matchup, which came in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament on March 16, 2023 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Penn State took care of business against Morehead State in their previous contest as they rolled to a one-sided triumph. The Nittany Lions ran their record to 4-0 on the season and look to take down a ranked foe here in the quarterfinals of the ESPN Events Invitational. Against Morehead State, Penn State trailed by three with 6:56 to play in the first half before closing the half on a 21-7 run to take an 11-point lead at intermission. The Nittany Lions scored the first seven points of the second half to go in front 44-26 and didn’t look back from there. Penn State won easily despite shooting 29.7% from the field, including six of 25 from three-point range, by forcing 29 Morehead State turnovers and hitting 30 of 38 free throw attempts in the game. Kanye Cleary and Qudus Wahab (12 rebounds) each had 14 points to lead the Nittany Lions in the win.
