The Memphis Tigers play host to the Texas A&M Aggies in a crucial non-conference showdown on Saturday night from FedExForum. The Aggies have picked up their play of late, having won four of the last five games, including some wins against notable names. For Memphis, a loss the last time out snapped their own winning streak, as they look to rebound in this one at home. These two last met in 2007 in a March Madness classic and there's little doubt that this one will be a back-and-forth affair as well.

For Texas A&M, expectations were high coming into the season, especially after how the SEC Tournament and NIT went for this group. Being able to bring back quite a few friendly faces certainly set the tone. A few losses around Thanksgiving have tempered expectations, while a 15-point loss to Boise State last week was also a surprise, though, with four wins in their last five, they are hoping a road win against Memphis can help get them on the right path with SEC play right around the corner. Texas A&M has a win in their only true road game this season and after last year's finish to the season, there's no way this group will be daunted playing away from home.

The Aggies continue to likely be without two players as they hit the road in this one, as Ethan Henderson (personal) remains out and Andersson Garcia (undisclosed) is questionable. With neither having appeared in a game this season, Garcia's i nclusion could only serve to help this group on the road.

The Aggies have struggled to find any area, on offense or defense, where they have been able to excel this season, though the glass could be the area in this one. Not only are they elite on the defensive glass, but they also hit the offensive glass as well. This combination of second-chance points, along with keeping Memphis from getting their athleticism out into transition, should bode well for this group. Wade Taylor IV (14.4 ppg,4.0 apg) leads the way and this group will go as far as he takes them. His defense (2.4 spg) is bound to be the difference, especially as he matches up against a stellar scoring guard on the other side.
