Texas A&M-Corpus Christi earned the first NCAA Tournament win in school history as they took down Southeast Missouri State in the First Four Tuesday night. The Islanders improved to 24-10 overall and were 14-4 in the Southland Conference during the season. Against Southeast Missouri State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi scored the first six points and led by as many as eight in the opening half before heading to the locker room with a 33-27 halftime lead. The Islanders led by 10 midway through the second half and were up 61-52 with 5:45 remaining only to see the Redhawks storm back. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi saw Southeast Missouri State tie the game at 64 with 3:07 to go before retaking the lead: they didn’t relinquish it the rest of the way. The Islanders shot 38.6% from the field, including four of 18 from three-point range, and cashed in 27 of 35 free throw attempts in the win. Jalen Jackson scored a career-high 22 points whi le pulling down six rebounds to lead Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the win.

On the year, the Islanders are 17th in the nation in scoring offense with 80.2 points per game.
