Texas A&M at Mississippi State – 10/1/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Texas A&M Aggies and Mississippi State Bulldogs face off on Saturday in a Week 5 college football showdown at Davis Wade Stadium. In 2021 it was Mississippi State that secured the 26-22 victory.

Texas A&M comes into this game with a 3-1 record overall but there are still some major questions about the team heading into this game. In the last game against Arkansas, it wasn’t the most impressive game but they were able to secure the 23-21 victory. Under center for the Aggies is Max Johnson and in the last game, he completed 11 of his 21 passes for 151 yards and a touchdown. Devon Achane had a big game also finishing with 19 carries for 159 yards and a touchdown. The Aggies are averaging 21.3 points while their defense is giving up 11.8 points per game. The strength of this team is the defense and it’s ranked 8th best in college football.

On the other side of this matchup is Mississippi State who sit with a 3-1 record overall and the only loss was against LSU. The Bulldogs have wins over Memphis, Arizona, and Bowling Green. In the last game against Bowling Green, Mississippi State scored 45 points and that led to the easy victory. Under center for the Bulldogs is Will Rogers and in the last game, he completed 39 of his 50 passes for 409 yards and six touchdowns. The Bulldogs are averaging 37.3 points while their defense is giving up 21.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 36th in college football while the defense is ranked 50th in the league.
