Venue:'Empower Field at Mile High – Denver, CO
Coverage:'CBS
Week 2 of the 2022 NFL season includes a showdown between the Houston Texans and Denver Broncos. The Texans surprised a lot of people in Week 1 by managing to end their divisional clash with the Indianapolis Colts in a 20-20 tie. It was quite a busy day for Houston's defense, which recorded 53 tackles while spending 39:37 on the field.
As of this writing, the Broncos have yet to play their Monday Night Football game against the Seattle Seahawks. Still, Denver is viewed as a potential Super Bowl favorite this season while Houston was one of the worst teams in the NF L last year. In other words, this is one of the more lopsided matchups on the Week 2 slate.
Texans vs Broncos Odds & Spread
Moneyline:'HOU: (+385) | DEN: (-500)
Spread:'HOU: +10.5 (-114) | DEN: -10.5 (-106)
Total:'43.5 -'Over: (-114) | Under: (-106)
The Broncos enter this contest as heavy home favorites on the moneyline and the spread. This 4:25 p.m. ET clash also features a total of 43.5, which is somewhat low compared to this week's NFL projected totals.
Texans vs Broncos Prediction & Pick
It's great that the Texans' defense showed up in Week 1, but the offense needs to do the same if they're going to upset the Broncos. Houston's run game averaged only 2.8 yards on 28 carries while all of its pass-catchers had 38 or fewer receiving yards except for Brandin Cooks (82).
Considering Denver's superior talent on both sides of the ball, I don't think Houston has what it takes to keep up. The Broncos are capable of exploiting the Texans' defense on the ground and through the air, so things could get out of hand fast.
With the hometown support on their side, I expect the Broncos to win in Russell Wilson's home debut.
Final Score Prediction:'Broncos: 35 | Texans: 16

Texans vs Broncos Best Bet
The Texans don't have the offensive pieces to keep up with the Broncos. I don't expect this game to be close at all as Wilson should be able to pick apart Houston's secondary, enabling Denver to run up the score and cover the spread.
