Tennessee Titans vs. Chicago Bears Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 8-12-2023

The opening week of the NFL preseason brings us a matchup between a pair of teams who missed the postseason last year as they collide in the Windy City. It’s a clash between the Tennessee Titans and the Chicago Bears as they do battle at Soldier Field Saturday afternoon. Tennessee stumbled down the stretch last season, finishing 7-10 and missing the postseason, snapping a string of three straight playoff appearances. Chicago had all kinds of problems in 2022, finishing the season 3-14 and missing the playoffs for the second straight year. This marks the fourth time in the last seven years that the teams have met in the preseason, with the Bears prevailing 27-24 on the road in the most recent preseason tilt on August 28, 2021.

We’ve hit more than 30 parlays in the last few months, totaling over $33,900 in that span. That includes 12 wins since the start of June totaling $13,629! Don't miss out on another big payday! Click here to get a month of my parlays for only $50 (normally $100)!

Tennessee was rolling in the first half of the season before things came apart in 2022 and they’re hoping to regroup this season. The Titans were 7-3 after 10 games before dropping their final seven games, four of which came in one-score contests, to wind up missing the playoffs. They had a chance to win the division in week 18 only to lose to Jacksonville on the road 20-16 by giving up a fumble return for a score in the final three minutes of regulation. Tennessee decided to run it back this season with their key players from a season ago. The Titans added DeAndre Hopkins to their receiving corps in an effort to bolster their passing game but there are still some major concerns when it comes to critical spots in the lineup.

Ryan Tannehill (212 of 325 passing, 2536 yards, 13 touchdowns, six interceptions, 98 rushing yards, two touchdowns) is back as the #1 quarterback on the depth chart. He m issed five games last season and, at age 35, one has to wonder how much more he has left in the tank. Malik Willis (31 of 61, 278 yards, three INT, 123 rushing yards, TD) will battle second-round pick Will Levis for the backup QB role. In the first depth chart that was released by the team, Willis is currently listed as #2 with Levis #3, which came as a surprise given the reports generated around camp. We know Derrick Henry (349 carries, 1538 yards, 13 TD) is the #1 back but the trio of Hassan Haskins, Tyjae Spears and Johnathan Ward will be battling for the #2 role. Treylon Burks (33 receptions, 444 yards, TD) will work as the default #2 receiver opposite Hopkins. A major thing to watch for here in the preseason is the revamped offensive line for the Titans. Taylor Lewan, Nate Davis and Ben Jones are all gone, wiping out last year’s line from center to left tackle. Throw in that Nicholas Petit-Frere, who started at right tackle, is suspended for the first six games due to vi olating the league’s gambling policy, and the Titans have some major issues when it comes to protecting the quarterback in addition to opening holes on the ground.
