The Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks will face the Youngstown State Penguins this Wednesday evening from Beeghly Arena.
Tennessee-Martin was overwhelmed in their opener versus Pittsburgh and they fell, 80-58 . The Skyhawks went into the locker room down double-digits, and things didn’t improve from there. Ryan Fiddler’s team shot 32% from the field, and just 15% from deep, and that will have to improve in game two.
K.J. Martin transferred over from Troy to lead the Skyhawks in scoring last season at 16.9 points per game, and he led the team with an underwhelming 11 points versus Pitt. Parker Stewart returned after leading UTM in scoring back in 2019, but he only scored nine points in his return to the team. Chris Nix mans the frontcourt, but if he’s unable to avoid foul trouble, the paint will become a liability for Tennessee-Martin.
