There are 46 current Division I college basketball programs that have never qualified for the NCAA tournament.
Most of them are eligible for inclusion in March Madness this year (or any other year), as long as they win the automatic bid that's awarded to the winner of each conference tournament.
About a quarter of the teams on the current list are ineligible for this year's tournament as part of a recent Division I reclassification action. These teams are denoted in the table below with an asterisk.
