The TCU Horned Frogs magical season continued last Saturday with their 34-24 win over Texas Tech in front of a crazed home crowd. The win moved TCU to 9-0 on the season and 5-0 in the highly competitive Big 12 Conference. The Horned Frogs are now 9-0 for the first time since their 2010 team that went 13-0. In the latest college playoff football rankings, they sit in at #4 and would be in the playoffs if the season ended today.

“The great thing about this team is they've got a lot of confidence. They feel like if we can get into the game in the second half with a chance to win, we're going to figure out how to do it.” Head coach Sonny Dykes said to the press after the game.

After trailing 17-13 entering the fourth quarter, the Horned Frogs scored 21 fourth quarter points to secure the win. Quarterback Max Duggan went 12-of-23 for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was supported by a huge perf ormance by running back Kendre Miller who had 21 carries for 162 yards and a score. TCU finished the game with 429 yards of total offense and without a turnover. They were just 5-of-15 on third down and o-for-3 on fourth down.

On the defensive end, TCU allowed 352 yards of total offense and held the potent TTU passing attack to just 157 yards passing and had an interception. They also held TTU to just 3-of-16 on third down and 3-of-6 on fourth downs. They had four sacks in the game and a whopping nine tackles for loss total in what was one of the team's most complete defensive performances.

At 9-0, TCU is near the top of countless offensive numbers heading into this showdown with Texas. They are 5th in the country in scoring offense. They have the 12th best ground attack in the nation and the 33rd best passing attack. In the red zone offensively, they are ranked 62nd. TCU has got the intangibles down, ranking 23rd in penalties and 19th in turnover differential this season. Defensively, the Horned Frogs are not as impressive but also have to play in the offensively-gifted Big 12 Conference. They are 72nd in the country in defensive scoring. They are ranked 73rd against the run and just 94th against the pass. In the red zone, the TCU defense is ranked just 85th.

Key Injuries: One key factor is the health of WR Quentin Johnston. He has 44 catches on the season but is listed as questionable for Saturday with an ankle injury.
