The TCU Horned Frogs and the Colorado Buffaloes will lock horns in Week 1 of the 2022 NCAA college football season. TCU will travel to Boulder looking to begin the year on the right foot after enduring a mediocre 5-7 campaign last year.

As for the Buffaloes, they'll try to give their home fans something to cheer for after going just 4-8 in 2021. As home underdogs, a season-opening win would be especially exciting for them.

TCU vs Colorado Odds & Spread

Moneyline:'TCU: (-520) | CU: (+385)
Spread:'TCU: -13.5 (-114) | CU: +13.5 (-106)
Total:'55.5 -'Over: (-110) | Under: (-110)

TCU comes in as heavy road favorites here by virtue of being a Big 12 school against a less formidable Pac-12 program. The total of 55.5 is a bit on the lofty side compared to other games this week, so this matchup is projected to be high-scoring.

TCU vs Colorado Prediction & Pick

Neither team has enjoyed much success lately, but you still have to give the edge to TC U. The Horned Frogs are trying to turn things around under new head coach Sonny Dykes, who could light a spark under a program that had grown complacent under Gary Patterson.

There's not a ton to like on Colorado's side. The Buffaloes have gone 8-10 under current head coach Karl Dorrell but took a major step back last year, going from 4-2 to 4-8. In particular, their offense was one of the worst in college football, averaging a meager 18.8 points per game.

TCU's main weakness is on defense, but that shouldn't matter too much against this lackluster Colorado offense.

Final Score Prediction:'TCU: 31 | Colorado: 21

TCU vs Colorado Betting Trends

– TCU was just 2-9 against the spread (ATS) last season.
– The total hit the over in seven of TCU's 11 games in 2021.
– Colorado was 6-5 against the spread (ATS) last year.
– The total hit the under in seven of Colorado's 11 games last season.

TCU vs Colorado Best Bet

It's hard to trust TCU to cover the spread after going 2-9 ATS last year. With the Horned Frogs favored to win by nearly two touchdowns, the spread looks risky.

There's too much juice on the moneyline, so betting the total is the play here. As mentioned, Colorado's offense was horrendous last year, ranking 121st out of 130 FBS schools in scoring. The defense was solid, however, rating around average with 26.7 points per game allowed.

TCU's defense was atrocious last season with 34.9 points per game allowed, but that shouldn't be much of an issue in this matchup. The Horned Frogs were just okay on offense, ranking 66th with 28.7 points per game.

As such, the total seems to be set a bit high here, making the under your best bet.
