TCU at Texas – 1/11/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The TCU Horned Frogs will head down to Austin and face the Texas Longhorns in Big 12 play from the Moody Center on ESPN2. Texas and TCU have faced off over 185 times, with the Longhorns holding a 117-69 series lead, despite falling to the Horned Frogs in the Big 12 Tournament last season.

TCU fell to 13-2 after losing to Iowa State in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs and Cyclones battled in one of college basketball’s best games of the season so far, and ISU would steal the victory behind a big last second shot from Gabe Kalscheur. TCU is scoring 78.1 points per game, while allowing 63.5 ppg, and shooting 45.7% from the field.

TCU had their eleven-game win streak snatched away from them, but that’s no reason to overlook the real threat they bring into Austin here. The Horned Frogs suffered an inexplicable home loss to Northwestern State, and they haven’t looked back, beating Providence, Utah, Texas Tech, and Baylor along the way. Mike Miles Jr. leads the charge for Jamie Dixon’s squad for the third season in a row. The 6’2 guard scored a game-high 33 points in the win over Baylor, and he’s averaging a career-best 19.8 ppg. Senior forward Emanuel Miller leads the team in rebounding (6.3), while scoring 13.5 ppg.
