The Minnesota Golden Gophers are battling it out with the No. 24 Illinois Fighting Illini on Saturday. In the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Illini have a 23-14 lead. Minnesota QB Tanner Morgan had a third-down scramble where he attempted to pick up a first down.
At the end of the run, an Illinois defender attempted to punch out the football but caught Morgan in the side of the helmet. Morgan remained down after the play and had to be helped off the field. He was taken into the medical tent for further evaluation and is being carted to the locker room for further testing.
