The Tampa Bay Rays roll into New York with the best record in baseball and off to the best start in team history. Last weekend, the Rays were able to take two out of three games from the Yankees and can add more distance by winning this four-game series. Tampa is coming off a tough series in Baltimore, splitting the first two games. On Thursday night, the Rays were only able to push across one run on six hits and drop the series with a 2-1 loss. Even with the loss, the Rays are 29-9 on the season.

Rasmussen takes the hill for the Rays to kick of the series with a 3-2 record in seven starts with a 3.11 ERA. He is 2-1 in four road starts with an ERA of 3.54. Rasmussen earned a no-decision last weekend against these Yankees, allowing just two hits over 5.2 scoreless innings. He walked two and struck out six batters in an eventual 3-2 Yankees win. The Rays have dropped four of his last five starts. Rasmussen's hard-hit percentage is down to just 28.4%, the lowest of his career. He has a strikeout percentage of 26%, slightly above the MLB average.
