The Tampa Bay Rays raced out to a record-tying 13-0 start to begin the season thanks to a combination of power-hitting and outstanding pitching. Over the weekend, the Rays finally lost as they dropped two straight at Toronto before winning the series finale on Sunday. On Monday in Cincinnati, the Rays dropped their third in four games with an 8-1 loss to the Reds in Cincinnati. Tampa left 11 runners on base in the loss. On Tuesday night, the Rays flexed their power yet again with three home runs, including two from Taylor Walls in a 10-0 win. Rookie starting pitcher Taj Bradley pitched 5.1 innings and struck out nine to pick up the win.

The Rays will turn to righty Drew Rasmussen in the series finale on Wednesday afternoon. Rasmussen is 2-1 on the season with a 2.60 ERA. He is coming off of a loss on Friday night to the Blue Jays in which he lasted just 4.1 innings and allowed eight hits and five runs. He walked four and struck out four in the loss. Rasmussen was dominant in his first two starts this season, going 2-0 while allowing three hits without a run in 13 innings.
