The Lightning are off to a rough start despite their offense stepping up and scoring 3.40 goals per game with 14 goals in the last four games. Nikita Kucherov, Brandon Hagel, and Steven Stamkos have scored 16 goals and 15 assists to lead the top two lines but the rest of the offense has stepped up as well. The offense has stepped up but the defense has let the Lightning down, allowing 3.20 goals per game including eight goals in the last two games. Victor Hedman and Nicklaus Perbix have combined for 1.1 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. The bright spot has been the play of goaltender Jonas Johansson w ho has a .922 save percentage and a 2.73 goals-against average on 282 shots with 4.4 goals saved above average.
