Tampa Bay Lightning (3-3-0) vs. Los Angeles Kings (3-4-0)

The Tampa Bay Lightning start a three-game road trip in California on Tuesday night when they take on the Los Angeles Kings in the cross-conference battle at Crypto.com Arena. Last season, the Bolts outlasted the Kings 6-4 in LA, and the reigning NHL vice-champions shoot for their 11th consecutive victory over Los Angeles.

Tampa Bay opens as a slight -117 road fave. The Kings are +106 moneyline dogs, and the totals are listed at 6.5 goals.

After a shaky start to the 2022-23 season and three losses in their first four outings, the Tampa Bay Lightning have won two straight games over the Florida Panthers 3-2 in overtime and the New York Islanders 5-3. Brayden Point scored a couple of goals against Florida on the road, and Andrei Vasilevskiy slowed down the Panthers with 36 saves, while Brian Elliott guarded the cage against the Islanders at home and yielded three goals on 35 shots.

Three skaters have notched a goal and an assist each against the Panthers including Brayden Point. The 26-year-old center has six points on his season tally. Steven Stamkos leads the way for the Bolts with seven goals and a couple of dishes, while Nikita Kucherov, who’s still searching for his first goal in 2022-23, has recorded eight assists so far this season.

The Bolts are tallying 3.00 goals per contest (tied-21st in the NHL) while yielding 3.17 in a return (tied-16th). They’ve scored seven power-play goals on 25 opportunities (9th) and killed 18 of the opposing 22 attempts (14th). Andrei Vasilevskiy will get the starting call Tuesday in LA, and the 28-year-old goalie is 2-2-0 with a 2.52 GAA and .922 save percentage in 2022-23.
