Tampa Bay Lightning at Philadelphia Flyers – 12/1/22 NHL Picks and Prediction

The Tampa Bay Lightning and Philadelphia Flyers face off on Thursday in an NHL showdown at the Wells Fargo Center. When these two teams faced off in October it was the Flyers that secured the 3-2 victory. 

The Lightning sit with a 13-8-1 record overall and they have gone 6-5-0 away from home so far this season. On Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs the Lightning only managed one goal, and they ended up losing by two. Tampa Bay is averaging 3.45 goals while their defense is giving up 3.18 goals per game. The offense is ranked 7th in the NHL and they are going to need the offense to be strong again here. Nikita Kucherov has scored 10 goals and added 25 assists so far this season. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Flyers who sit with an 8-10-5 record and it has been a disappointing season. In the last game against the New York Islanders though the defense only gave up one goal and they were able to secure the two goal victory. Two games ago against the Islanders they gave up five goals and they need good defense here. The Flyers are averaging 2.44 goals while their defense is giving up 3.22 goals per game. The offense is ranked 32nd in the NHL. Kevin Hayes has scored eight goals and added 16 assists so far this season.
