The Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers face off on Friday in an NHL showdown at FLA Live Arena. When these two teams faced off in May it was Tampa Bay that secured the 2-0 victory. 

There are a ton of expectations surrounding this Tampa Bay Lightning but they have gotten off to a terrible start. Tampa Bay comes into this game with a 1-3-0 record overall and they are coming off a loss. In the last game against the Philadelphia Flyers, the Lightning gave up three goals and that led to the one-goal defeat. Two games ago against the Pittsburgh Penguins the Lightning were defeated 6-2. Tampa Bay is averaging 2.5 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.5 goals per game. Andrei Vasilenvsky will be in goal and he sits with a 1-2 record and is giving up 2.73 goals per game. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Florida Panthers who sit with a 3-1-0 record overall and they are coming off a win against the Philadelphia Flyers. The offense scored two goals in the 3rd period and that was enough to secure the one-goal victory. Carter Verhaghe had four shots on goal and two goals. Florida is averaging 3.5 goals per game while their defense is giving up 3.0 goals per game. Sergei Bobrovsky will be in goal and he has a 2-1 record and is giving up  2.75 goals per game.
