Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Tennessee Titans 8/20/22 – NFL Preseason Picks & Predictions

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are on the road Saturday in Week 2 of the NFL preseason to play the Tennessee Titans. Tampa Bay opened its preseason with a 26-24 loss to the Miami Dolphins last Saturday. Tampa Bay did not play 29 of its players. On defense, Anthony Nelson and Cam Gill each had a quarterback sack and a pair of tackles for loss. The Buccaneers are playing without quarterback Tom Brady who is in Brazil with his family.

Offensively, wide receiver Tyler Johnson had 73 yards receiving while Jaelon Darden caught a 23-yard touchdown pass as they battle for a spot on the Tampa Bay roster. Blaine Gabbert played a pair of series at quarterback for Tampa Bay and was replaced by former Florida Gators QB Kyle Trask, who was intercepted and also fumbled. Trask threw a touchdown pass of 19 yards to Jerreth Sterns but did not look good in his debut.

Tennessee opened its preseason with a disappointing 23-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Tennessee took an extensive look at rookie quarterback Malik Willis, who passed for 107 yards including a 48-yard strike to Racey McMath. Willis also scrambled for a 7-yard touchdown. Willis is listed on the Tennessee depth chart behind starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill and back up Logan Woodside.

Julius Chestnut was the leading rusher for Tennessee with 44 yards, while McMath, who caught the 48-yard pass from Willis for his only reception was the leading receiver for the Titans. Tennessee's defense gave up 389 yards of total offense to Baltimore and was on the field more than it should have been after the Titans turned the ball over three times. Tennessee's offense was non-existent in the second half as the Titans were outscored 9-0.
