Syracuse vs. Connecticut (UCONN) Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 9-10-2022

The UConn Huskies (1-1) will host the Syracuse Orange (1-0) on Saturday. These former Big East programs have not met since 2018, when Syracuse won 51-21, but a lot has changed since then.

The Syracuse Orange are led by Dino Barbers who is 30-43 with the program since coming over in 2016. Barbers had two successful stops as the head coach for Eastern Illinois and Bowling Green prior to coming to Syracuse, but now with a losing record in five of his six seasons with the Orange, the pressure is definitely on.

With nine returning starters on offense and eighth on defense, Syracuse answered the call last Saturday beating Louisville 31-7 as a 5.5-point dog. The Orange outgained the Cardinals 449 to 334 in total yards and won the turnover battle 3-0.

Starting starter quarterback Garrett Shrader went 18 for 25 with two touchdowns, and added another touchdown and 84 yards with his feet. Running back Sean Tucker was also steady with 100 yards on 21 attempts and one touchdown.
