Syracuse at Pittsburgh – 2/25/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Pittsburgh Panthers will host the Syracuse Orange in ACC play from the on Pittsburgh and Syracuse have a ton of history, with their rivalry dating back to their time in the heyday of the Big East. Cuse leads the all-time series, 65-44, but Pitt has won the last two matchups.

Syracuse moved to 16-12 after losing to Clemson in Carolina. The Orange were outmatched by the Tigers early, and they ended up losing the battle of ACC oranges by 18 points, 91-73. Syracuse is scoring 73.9 points per game, while allowing 71.4 ppg, and shooting 46.5% from the field.

Syracuse has dropped their last two games, and they currently find themselves on the wrong side of the bubble heading into the final weeks of the season. The Orange are 9-8 in ACC play, with a 5-5 road record. Four-year starter Joe Girard III led the team with 21 points against Duke last week, and he’s up to a career-best 16.9 ppg. Freshman guard Judah Mintz is coming into his own down the stretch, and after scoring 18 points or more in five of the last seven games, he’s averaging 16.0 ppg and a team-lead 4.4 apg. Senior center Jesse Edwards has double-doubled in three of the last four games, and he’s one of the top rebounders in the ACC at 10.2 rpg, while scoring 13.9 ppg.
