Syracuse at Minnesota – 12/29/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The Syracuse Orange and Minnesota Golden Gophers face off on Thursday in the Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. When these two teams faced off in 2013 it was Syracuse that secured the 21-17 victory. 

Syracuse comes into this game with a 7-5 record overall and they have gone 6-6 against the spread. In the last game against Boston College, Syracuse scored 32 points and that was enough to win by nine points. Garrett Shrader completed 21 of his 27 passes for 285 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Syracuse is averaging 28.3 points while their defense is giving up 22.7 points per game. On the season, Shrader has thrown for 2,310 yards, 17 touchdowns, and six interceptions. Running back Sean Tucker has had a strong season but he has opted out of this game to get ready for the NFL draft. 

On the other side of this matchup is Minnesota who sits with an 8-4 record and they have gone 7-5 against the spread. To close out the regular season, the Gophers were able to beat Wisconsin 23-16. Athan Kaliakmanis had a big game completing 18 of hs 29 passes for 319 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. Minnesota is averaging 28.2 points while their defense is giving up 13.3 points per game. Kaliakmanis has taken over for Minnesota under center after Tanner Morgan was hurt. On the season he has thrown for 866 yards, three touchdowns, and four interceptions. Running back Mo Ibrahim is having quite the season rushing for 1,594 yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.
