Steelers vs Eagles Prediction, Odds & Best Bet for NFL Week 8

Week 8 of the 2022 NFL season is here, bringing some inter-conference action. One of those showdowns is a battle of Pennsylvania as the Pittsburgh Steelers visit the Philadelphia Eagles. The Steelers have won just one of their last five games while the Eagles have yet to lose this season.

Can the Steelers win to halt their three-game losing streak on the road? Or will the Eagles continue to fly over the competition to extend their perfect record to 7-0?

Steelers vs Eagles Odds

According to FanDuel Sportsbook's'NFL odds, the Eagles are a clear -520 favorite on the moneyline (10.5-point spread) in a game with an over/under of 42.5.

What should NFL fans expect in this matchup, and where can bettors find value?

Steelers vs Eagles Prediction and Best Bet

The Eagles are the biggest favorites in the entire NFL this week. No other team has better odds than their -520 on the moneyline, which equates to an implied probability of 83.9%.

You can't blame oddsmakers for backing the Eagles to that degree. Philadelphia has handled every opponent put in its past, leading to Nick Sirianni's team boasting not only the league's fourth-best offense (26.8 PPG) but also the No. 4 scoring defense (17.5 PPG).

The Steelers don't come close to either of those statistics. Pittsburgh's anemic offense ranks second-worst in the NFL having been held to 10 or fewer points twice in the last three weeks while also failing to score more than 20 points in regulation every game this season.

Furthermore, the Steelers' defenders haven't been able to come through on the road. The 'Black and Yellow' give up 25.8 PPG (eighth-worst) away from Steelers Stadium, playing a huge role in the team's three straight road losses, being outscored 83-30 over that stretch.

There just isn't a world where the Eagles should lose to this version of the Steelers. Philadelphia is 3-0 against the spread (ATS) at home this season and 5-2 ATS in its last seven games against Pittsburgh, leading to me backing the Eagles as 10.5-point favorites.

Having said that, the two sides may have issues surpassing the 42.5-point total given how bad th e Steelers' offense has been. Even with the Eagles doing a lot of heavy lifting, I'm taking under 42.5 points here.
