Stanford at California- 1/6/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Stanford Cardinal and California Golden Bears face off on Friday in a college basketball showdown at the Haas Pavilion. When these two teams faced off last February it was Cal that secured the 53-39 victory. 

Stanford comes into this game with a 5-9 record overall and they have gone 6-8 against the spread. In the last game against Utah, Stanford scored 68 points, but it wasn’t enough as they were defeated by three points. Spencer Jones finished with 16 points and four rebounds. Stanford is averaging 68.1 points while their defense is giving up 64.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 281st in college basketball, and in this game the offense is going to need to be good. Jones is having a strong game for Stanford averaging 12.3 points while shooting 38.3 percent from the field and 29.6 percent from behind the three point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is California who sits with a 2-13 record and they have gone 6-9 against the spread. It has been a down season for Cal, but they are coming off a win in the last game. Cal was led by Joel Brown who finished with 21 points, three rebounds, and one assist. Cal is averaging 59.5 points while their defense is giving up 66.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 358th in college basketball. Devin Asnew is averaging 16.1 points while shooting 39.3 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from behind the three point line.
